Is a 30 minute lesson long enough?
Yes! Especially as a beginner. The lessons keep you busy until your next lesson.
Can I teach myself?
There’s tons of free stuff on the internet, but most people learn best through consistent one-on-one instruction and practice.
I have a four year old child. Is it too early to start?
I don’t teach kids that young. I suggest parents take their child to a music appreciation class. Structured music lessons can turn kids off of music. That being said, I teach kids 8 & up and we have a blast!
Do you teach students how to read music?
Yes! All my instruction involves sight reading and builds on sound musical principles. Tab is introduced later on.
How long will it take me to learn the guitar?
After six months the average person can play and sing several campfire tunes. I teach chord strumming patterns that are applicable to thousands of popular tunes!
What happens during my free lesson?
I teach you how to hold the guitar properly, how to read notes on the first string, then have you strum simple chords along with myself and an audio track. We have fun!
Can I drop my kids off at your studio and pick them up after their lesson?
I require all parents to stay in my waiting area during their child’s lesson.
Do you teach advanced guitar?
I teach blues, introductory easy jazz tunes, as well as popular tunes, and positional playing.
Why do you teach sight reading?
My goal is to create confident, secure, and knowledgeable guitarists.
Do you give video lessons?
Yes.
Would you come to my home?
Sorry, no.
What days are you currently teaching?
Days and evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
